The design website inthralld.com recently published this feature about displaying your wine. I have to say I am of two minds about this subject.
On the one hand, as a wine enthusiast who believes, and has argued before, that wine is not for collecting, but is for drinking, I was annoyed.
On the other hand, as an architect, I rather liked some of the solutions that are featured in the post.
But the big picture is that, like many of us who live with wine, if you have so much wine that you need to find a way to store it, a wine fridge is a better solution, or an actual wine cellar with some temperature and humidity controls. If you are going to be using display solutions like the non wine cellar options featured in the post, you should be drinking through the displayed wines and replenishing the “display” from wines in your actual cellar.
Note: I will be selling and signing my books at Stage Left Cellars in Oakland on Saturday, December 7th from 11am until 5p. Come on out, say hello and taste some great wines.
